Relationship coefficients from the pedigree, sire selection that accounts for close kinship, and a culling list.

The inbreeding coefficient is computed from the pedigree by walking common ancestors. For a small population this is the central instrument: yield gained without controlling relatedness turns, within two generations, into lost fertility and vitality.

Sire selection shows not only the expected gain but the relatedness of the pair: the bull with the best index may be a grandson of the same line, and then the gain in the figure becomes a loss in the herd.
